Help

Initial first time setup:

  1. Click on options Tab.
  2. Choose you naming style or build your own style.
  3. If you would like to preserve file tags such as XviD, DVDRip... check "Enable preserving file tags" and add the tags you want them kept.
  4. "Show Aliases" will be added from the main screen as you use the program but you can delete show aliases from the Aliases list.
  5. Choose other options according to your requirements.

Using the program:

  1. Click "Browse" and select the folder where the files you want to rename are located, or Drag and Drop the files/folder to the List.
  2. Use Filters and/or Check boxes to choose exactly the files you want to rename.
  3. Click on the show names displayed in the list to edit it as you want them to be displayed, for example you can enter rename "P.B" to "Prison Break"
    once you renamed a show all files with the same show name will be renamed and an alias will be added to the program so you wont have to enter rename it again.
  4. If you don't want the new file names to contain episode titles continue to step 6.
  5. Click on "Look up titles online" this will search detected shows online and will download the episode titles, if a show is not detected online correctly choose the correct show from the "Shows search result"
    list, if the show you want is not in the result list rename the show on the left list to be close to the actual show name then click "Look up titles online" again.
  6. Click "Preview" button to see how the files will be renamed (Program will auto preview added files but in case you changed some of the options you need to click "Preview".
  7. Click "Rename" to do the actual renaming.

--------- Command Line ---------

TVRenamer can be called from command line like the following

Note: The options set in the application applies when executing from command line

Options:
-a start renaming automatically.
-as use absolute numbers for episode(works only with TheTVDB)
-c closes automatically after finishing work.
-s download subtitles.
-x extract .rar files in the folder before adding file (Requires UnRar.exe check application options).
files or folders: list of files and folders

Examples:
Automatically extract rar files in the folder then rename media files and close.
TVRenamer.exe -a -c -x C:\TV\Lost.S01E01\
Download the subtitles for the passed files then rename them but will not close the application.
TVRenamer.exe -a -c -s C:\TV\Lost.S01E01\Lost.s01.e01.avi C:\TV\Lost.S01E01\Lost.s01.e02.avi
