Can't figure anything out, a manual would be nice

Windows 7 .wtv file

I'm trying to rename some kids shows. for example, windows 7 MCE gives me the following:

Curious George - A Bridge to Farm; Monkey Fever (03-04-2011 - 09h 58m).wtv

TVRenamer is giving me:

Curious George - A Bridge to Farm; Monkey Fever (03-04.S20E11.wtv

Any Suggestions?

Doesn't recognize E00 episodes

When doing a show lookup online for a season, TVRenamer doesn't recognize E00 when a season has this first. It will make E01 first and ignore E00, making each episode name one position out.

Always remove dots

Many scene releases use dot instead of spaces on filenames so we have
show.name.title.2x12
and the application when it renames it on my pattern match i get
show.name.2x12
I know i can have for every show to put on alias instead but i was thinking of a more permanent solution so that it converts the dots to regular spaces.

Also can we have title case conversion as well ? ex: "show name" to become "Show Name"

tnx

Remove spaces between show name

Is it possible to remove the space between words of show name and use a custom separator instead? For example I have:

Family Guy 07x01.avi that renames to
Family Guy.s07e01.Love.Blactually.avi

Is there a way to get rid of the space and have it

Family.Guy.s07e01.Love.Blactually.avi

? thnx!

Anime

Hi, I have problems renaming anime. I noticed that the episode number is being detected as seasons. Here is an example which shows as season 4, episode 0:

Baccano! Ep. 04

Some shows have a lot of episodes, so the first number is recognized as the season, and the last two are recognized as episodes. Below, it will show up as season 2, episode 73.

Bleach - 273

Anime and odd names

I've noticed this as well....though i do have some very funny anf messed up strings....

ex. Kuroshitsuji-_03_[704x400_H.264_AAC][95FF33C5]

It has a habit of recognising the first two numbers (or even the last) in the first set of brackets as the episode or season numbers.

Also, would it be possible to specify what season the epsidoes entered belong to?

Also, have your added support for SxxExx naming systems?

Search Request

Hi Guys,

I love this software, Please keep up the grate work. I have all my files saved as

Bones - S02 - E01 - Title.avi

what search string would i need.

detect season and episode by title

hi, is it possible to detect season and episode by the title of the series?

for example: i hav a file named "Two and a Half Men - Give Me Your Thumb.ts" and I want to get "Two and a Half Men - S7E6 - Give Me Your Thumb.ts"

Hi, Great app, but there

Hi,

Great app, but there doesn't seem to be any support for shows using dates instead of episode numbers, such as The Colbert Report.

Episodes are generally in the format of "the.colbert.report.2010.10.13.austan.goolsbee", where the date is yyyy-mm-dd.

Any plans for adding:

a) support for episode detection by date and
b) renaming including date

thanks!

Downloading

Is the app still available? I can't download any version.

Discovery Channel Documentaries

I have some discovery stuff that i want to rename,
but having problems. You will notice that the Seasons have the
date code, and TVRenamer doesn`t want to wok here.

Please help.
Hope u are still doing well.

Good insights

Very well written, insightful and intuitive. Thanks for the information and the great site.

My File names

I have a whole bunch of files listed as

810 - Episode name

8 would be the season
10 would be the episode number

then episode name.

they are in a directory structure that is set as

SERIES NAME\SEASON\810 - Episode name.avi

(?[a-zA-Z\

(?[a-zA-Z\ \.]+)\\Season\[\d]+\\(?[\d])(?[\d]+)

That should work for you, it worked for the files that i had with the same naming structure

How to deal with numbers

How to deal with numbers being part of the Show Name or the Episode Name?

My standard pattern is:

ShowName/Season n/Enn-EpisodeName

True Blood/Season 1/E03-Mine.avi

But for situations like this:

Criminal Minds/Season 5/E09-100

The parser will choke on the Episode because of the 100 being the Episode Name. And then assumes the season is 100 and the ShowName is E09.

oneddl prefix

Hi, great application. I'm having an issue that a show is prefixed like this
sitename.com-showname.s02e10

So the detection gets this as show "sitename.com-showname"
How can i have the prefix be excluded ?

thanks!
Vassilis

Click on the detected show

Click on the detected show name, and remove the site name, this will add an alias to the show name, and next time if you have the same show with the site name it'll be removed automatically.

Adding Aliases?

Hello,

It's me again!

Is there a way to add aliases in TVRenamer without actually having to double click a shows name? Basically is there a way to manually add alises? If not, could this be implemented?
Thanks,
Mark

Unfortunately you can't add

Unfortunately you can't add aliases in another way in the current version, if future version this may change.

Command line problem

Hello,

I would like to be able to use your program for renaming my show episodes but am having a problem with the command line options. I may be under the wrong impression with your implementation, but this is how I was hoping that it would work:
Start program execution with EventGhost with -a -c in the command line argument box.
TVRenamer opens and processes (looks in the folder, renames & Moves) a folder of show episodes waiting to be renamed and moved.
Right now it looks as if TVRenamer will open for me, but it does nothing else. It just sits there.
Am I expecting it to do something that it does not do?

Thanks,
Mark

it works as you described it,

it works as you described it, are you passing the folder as command line argument?

No, I have not passed the

No, I have not passed the folder in the command line argument. I assumed that the setting in the program itself would be good enough. Could you please show me an example of how to pass the folder in the command line?
Thanks,
Mark

check the command line part

check the command line part of the help here http://tvrenamer.com/help
Example:
TVRenamer.exe -a -c -x C:\TV\Lost.S01E01\

Thanks for all of your help.

Thanks for all of your help. I finally got it to work. It seems that the help page here, in the program itself and even the previous post here didn't really give correct information. None of them included quotation marks around the path i.e. "J:\Downloads\Complete". That is what I needed to add to get it to work.
Thanks again!
Mark

Hello, I have looked all over

Help with detection

Hello,

I have a show that, when downloaded, is formatted as such:

TV Show Name 01 x 05 Episode name.avi

I would like it renamed as follows:

TV Show Name - S01E05 - Episode name.avi

Here is what I have tried to figure out by looking at the example:

(?[a-zA-Z\ ]+)|.* (?[\d]+) [\W+_x] (?[\d]+)

Of course it doesn't work and generates an error. I have tried looking around your website for help with this but was not able to find anything other than this page. Is there any documentation anywhere to help with this? I would like to be able to figure out this on my own without having to ask for help everytime I want to enter a new detection scheme.

Thanks,
Mark

Hello Mark, You can use the

Hello Mark, You can use the expression below:

(?<show>[a-zA-Z\ ]+)(?<s>[\d]+) x (?<e>[\d]+).*

Trying to get a specific format read...

I like my shows to be in the format Showname - SSEP# - EpisodeTitle.etc

Right now the filename is Showname - EP# - EpisodeTitle.etc

I'm trying to get it to append to the EP#, it's in the folder Showname/Season #/

Thanks. Hope I was clear.

Eg:

My Show - 01 - I Love It.mkv is how it is now, and I want it to be My Show - S01E01 - I Love It.mkv

How can you tell the season

How can you tell the season for the episode ? If you you're storing them each season in a folder like :

Season 1
        /My Show - 01 - I Love it.mkv
        /My Show - 02 - I Really Love it.mkv

Then you need to enable folder detection in the detection options and it will work without custom detection, however to have the format - SE -

A couple it seems to choke on

S5E1 Episode Title.mkv
(I guess it doesn't like the single digit episode #s)

S2 Episode 12 - Title.avi
(episode # can be single or double digit)

TVRenamer needs the show name

TVRenamer needs the show name in order to identify the episode.
in the examples you presented you never mentioned the show name, in case you have the episodes in a folder with the show name, you need to go to detection settings to enable detecting the parent folder name as a show name.
TVRenamer has no problem with single or double digits in detecting season or episode numbers.
If you still have a problem can post your full folder structure.

Case sensitive

I've noticed ur program is case sensitive. is there an express to handle that.
my files setup:
Showname\Season XX\sxxexx - title.avi or
Showname\Season XX\SxxExx - title.avi

I would rather not use two different detection expressions. unless I have to.
Awesome program thx.

Showname\Season ?\?.Showtitle

Example

True Blood\Season 1\1.Strange Love

you can use the

you can use the expression

(?<show>[a-zA-Z\ \.]+)\\Season (?<s>[\d]+)\\(?<e>[\d]+)

heres one

showtitle season xx episode yy episodename
eample:
Star Trek - The Next Generation - Season 1 Episode 12 - The Big Goodbye [NiteShdw].avi

thanks for this updates

Uggs Clearance

There is nothing better than wearing a nice pair of Uggs Outlet. Both

women and men can agree that these are some of the most comfortable boots in the world

This case doesn't require a custom detection, it works out of the box tvrenamer

Help with two expressions

ShowName / Season # / SxEE - Title
and
ShowName / Season # / SxEE - ShowName

Examples.
Lost / Season 3 / 3x09 - Lost.avi
and
Lost / Season 3 / 3x09 - Stranger In A Strange Land.avi

I thought the default expression would pick-up my first example. It doesn't.

The sample detection

The sample detection expression works for 3x09 - Lost.avi case but wont work for the second one. thus you need to use this which will work for both:

(?<show>[a-zA-Z\ \.]+)\\Season\ [\d]+\\(?<s>[\d]+)x(?<e>[\d]+)

Hope this helps

Thanks

Expression

Show is stored as "\Showname\Season\SxxExx - ShowTitle.avi"

Many thanks

I assume you mean

I assume you mean showname\Season xx\SxxExx - Title.avi For that use

(?<show>[a-zA-Z\ \.]+)\\Season\ [\d]+\\S(?<s>[\d]+)E(?<e>[\d]+)

If it's exactly as you said then use

(?<show>[a-zA-Z\ \.]+)\\Season\\S(?<s>[\d]+)E(?<e>[\d]+)

Welcome :)
